New “Beyond the Classroom” Classes

Looking for something to keep your 18 month to 3 year old busy?? The Portage Township YMCA has created two new classes. First “Just Imagine” which is a mix of stories, songs, crafts and games. Class is held on Tuesday’s from 9:30-10:30 a.m. The second is “Stay and Play” which is a structured playtime held in our gymnasium for ½ hour and classroom setting for the other ½ hour. This class is held on Thursday’s from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Parent participation is required for both classes.

Also…“Just for Fun” is a new class designed for 3-5 year olds. This class will spend ½ hour in the classroom listening to stories, learning song, and making crafts and spend ½ hour having playtime in the gymnasium. This class is held on Monday’s from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

Monthly fees for each of these classes are $14 for Primary Plus members, $20 for Primary members and $40 for others.

Just Imagine

(ages 18 months-3 years)

Explore through stories, crafts, songs, and games. fun loving adult must participate. Class runs monthly and meets Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 AM.

Monthly class fee: $14 Primary Plus, $20 Primary, $40 Non-Members

(Must have a minimum of three enrolled to hold class)

Stay and Play

(ages 18 months- 3 years)

Mom's Club

Get together with other moms to discuss parenting techniques, share recipes or just enjoy time talking to other adults. Parents can bring children to the fun zone to be cared for during this time. Coffee is supplied during Mom's Club. Moms may take turns brining a small snack to share. Class is held in the multi-purpose room 1 and meets Mondays from 10-11 AM.

Monthly class fee: $10 Primary Plus, $13 Primary, $20 Non-Members

(Must have a minimum of four enrolled to hold class)

Just for Fun

(ages 3-5 years)

Children will spend 1/2 hour in the classroom listening to stories, learning songs, and making crafts. The other 1/2 hour will be spend in the gymnasium playing games in a structured setting. M/W/F A.M. pre-schoolers enrolling in the class will be taken directly from pre-school to class by their preschool instructor Class meets Mondays from 11:45-12:45 PM.
