CHILD CARE

K-Care and Y-Care

The before and after school child care programs are open to elementary through middle school students who are enrolled in one of the six Portage Township Elementary Schools that are located in Portage.

The K-Care and Y-Care programs are available to those who need extended hours of child care either before school, after school or both. With the combination of the two child care programs, the YMCA can provide child care for all students from Kindergarten through middle school from 6:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

K-Care provides child care for the Kindergarten student during the half day that they are not in class. (K-Care can be used with Y-Care to meet your total school age child care needs.)

Y-Care provides child care for the elementary school students including Kindergarten students before and after school.

both K-Care and Y-Care are provided by
the Portage Township YMCA in cooperation with Portage Township Schools

History

Program Philosophy
The Portage Township YMCA strives to help participants grow physically, mentally and spiritually while providing challenging activities in both small and large group settings under the guidance of caring, well trained YMCA staff.
Child Care Staff

Each staff member is a positive role model, dedicated to meeting the needs of each child in order to provide the best possible child care experience. All are trained in CPR, advanced first aid, and universal precautions.
