Gym is open for members during all open building hours.  Gym use will be limited by practices and league activity but it will be open all day and half court use will  be available most evenings.

Basketball Camp

Golf Leagues

Golf League Schedule

Time to dust off the clubs!!!  The Portage Township YMCA is currently taking registrations for their TWO golf leagues each played at Robbinhurst Golf Club.  Fees for each league are $20 per person. 

Partner Golf League - will run from April 29 thru August 26 and play every Thursday, tee times from 3:30 - 4:30 pm.  This league will hold a meeting on April 20 at 6:00 pm at the YMCA.

Independent Golf League – will run from May 19 thru August 25 and play every Wednesday, tee times from 8:00 – 8:30 am.  This league will hold a meeting on May 12 at 6:00 pm at the YMCA.

Portage Township YMCA T-Ball and Baseball

 Hey, Hey it’s opening day!!!  The Portage Township YMCA is now registering for their 2010 t-ball and baseball leagues.  T-ball is for boys and girl ages 3-5.  Baseball is for ages 6-8.  Practices will take place during the week with games on Saturday.  League will run from May 17 thru June 26.  Primary plus members $25, Primary members $33 and Non-members $66.  Games and practices will take place at Real Life Church on Swanson Road in Portage.  For more information regarding this program please contact Ryan Penrod, Senior Program Director at 219-762-YMCA(9622) or at ryan@ymcaofportage.org.

Challenger British Soccer Camps will coach over 105,000 kids around the USA this summer and will bring over 900 British coaches who will provide a great week of summer camp that allows your children to advance their skills whilst having the soccer camp experience of a lifetime!

TAEKWONDO FOR KIDS 

New at the Portage Township YMCA…..TAEKWONDO!  Register now for this exciting new program that will start in June.  ATA instructors will teach 6 – 13 year olds this ancient form of martial arts.  Class will take place at the YMCA on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from 4 – 5 p.m.  First month’s fees will be $75 for YMCA members and Non-Members.  This fee covers ATA Registration and Gi (uniform).  Each additional month will cost $35 for primary plus, $50 for primary and $100 for non-members.

Taekwondo for Kids

Taekwondo for Kids is a fun class designed for children age 6-13. This program is based on a lifetime learning concept in addition to technical skills. The building blocks for our system are monthly themes such as follows:

In addition to monthly themes, our system included the unique Victory Patch. Kids are rewarded special "Victory Stars" for their Victory Patch. These different colored stars are rewarded for outstanding performance in karate class, school, home or at a tournament competition. Kids may receive stars for the following deeds:

Gold - straight A's, honor roll or significant improvement     Silver - special performance awards
Blue - monthly themes, weekly lessons, classroom performance    Red - tournament participation
